If you choose to use the Services and create an account, you are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential. We strongly recommend that you do not share your username, password or other access credentials with anyone.

Communicating with you. We use your personal information to provide customer service, respond to your requests, offer effective services and maintain our business relationship with you.

Legal reasons. We use your personal information to comply with applicable law or respond to valid legal proceedings, including requests from law enforcement or government agencies, to investigate or participate in civil discovery, potential or ongoing litigation or other legal proceedings, and to enforce our terms or policies or investigate possible violations.

How we disclose personal information

In certain circumstances, we may disclose your personal information to third parties for legitimate purposes in accordance with this Privacy Policy. These circumstances may include:

  • With Shopify, vendors and other third parties that provide services on our behalf (for example IT management, payment processing, data analytics, customer service, cloud storage, fulfilment and shipping).
  • With business and marketing partners to provide marketing services and deliver advertisements to you. For example, we use Shopify to support personalised advertising through third-party services based on your online activity across different merchants and websites. Our business and marketing partners use your information under their own privacy notices. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask us not to share information about you to show targeted advertising and marketing content based on your online activity across different merchants and websites.
  • When you instruct us, make a request or otherwise consent to the disclosure of certain information to third parties, for example to ship products to you or through your use of social media widgets or login integrations.
  • With our affiliates or otherwise within our corporate group.
  • In connection with a business transaction such as a merger or bankruptcy filing, to comply with applicable legal obligations (including responding to subpoenas, search warrants or similar requests), enforce applicable terms of service or policies, and protect or defend the Services, our rights and the rights of our users or third parties.

We may share certain personal information (such as your browsing activity, interactions with our website or purchases) with advertising partners such as Meta (Facebook/Instagram) and TikTok to measure our advertising campaigns' performance and show you personalised advertisements.

Relationship with Shopify

The Services are hosted by Shopify, which collects and processes personal information about your access to and use of the Services to provide and improve them. Information you submit to the Services will be transmitted to and shared with Shopify and third parties that may be located in countries other than your country of residence, to provide and improve the Services. In addition, to protect, develop and improve our business, we use certain enhanced Shopify features that incorporate data and information from your interactions with our store, other merchants and Shopify. To provide these enhanced features, Shopify may use personal information collected from your interactions with our store, other merchants and Shopify. In these circumstances, Shopify is responsible for processing your personal information, including responding to requests to exercise your rights concerning use of your information for these purposes. To learn more about how Shopify uses your personal information and your rights, see Shopify's Consumer Privacy Policy. Depending on where you live, you may exercise certain rights concerning your personal information through Shopify's Privacy Portal.

Third-party websites and links

The Services may provide links to websites or other online platforms operated by third parties. If you follow links to sites not affiliated with or controlled by us, we recommend reviewing their privacy and security policies and other terms of use. We do not guarantee and are not responsible for the privacy or security of those sites, including the accuracy, completeness or reliability of their information. Information you provide in public or semi-public areas, including information shared on third-party social media platforms, may also be visible to other users of the Services and/or those third-party platforms without restrictions on its use by us or a third party. Including these links does not itself imply endorsement of the platforms' content or their owners or operators, unless otherwise stated on the Services.

Children's data

The Services are not intended for use by children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information about children below the age of majority in your jurisdiction. If you are the parent or guardian of a child who has provided us with personal information, you may contact us using the details below to request its deletion. As of the effective date of this Privacy Policy, we do not have actual knowledge that we “share” or “sell” (as those terms are defined in applicable law) personal information about individuals under 16.

Security and retention of your information

Please note that no security measure is perfect or impenetrable and we cannot guarantee “perfect security”. In addition, information you send us may not be secure during transmission. We recommend not using unsecured channels to communicate sensitive or confidential information to us.

How long we retain your personal information depends on factors such as whether we need it to manage your account, provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes or enforce other applicable contracts or policies.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the rights below regarding your personal information. However, these rights are not absolute, may apply only in certain circumstances and, in some cases, we may decline your request as permitted by law.

  • Right of access/right to know. You may have the right to request access to personal information we hold about you.
  • Right to deletion. You may have the right to request deletion of personal information we hold about you.
  • Right to correction. You may have the right to request correction of inaccurate personal information we hold about you.
  • Right to portability. You may have the right to receive a copy of personal information we hold about you and request its transfer to a third party in certain circumstances and subject to exceptions.
  • Managing communication preferences. We may send promotional emails. You can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe option in our emails. If you unsubscribe, we may still send non-promotional emails, for example about your account or orders you have placed.

If you live in the United Kingdom or European Economic Area, subject to exceptions and limitations under local law, you may exercise the following rights in addition to those above:

  • Objection to and restriction of processing: You may have the right to ask us to stop or restrict processing your personal information for certain purposes.
  • Withdrawal of consent: When we rely on your consent to process personal information, you have the right to withdraw that consent. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on your consent before it was withdrawn.

You may exercise these rights where indicated on the Services or by contacting us using the details below. For more information about Shopify's use of your personal information and the rights you may have, including rights relating to data processed by Shopify, see https://privacy.shopify.com/en.

We will not penalise you for exercising these rights. We may need to verify your identity before processing your requests, as required or permitted by applicable law. In accordance with applicable law, you may designate an authorised agent to request exercise of your rights on your behalf. Before accepting such a request, we will require the agent to provide proof of your authorisation to act for you, and we may ask you to verify your identity directly with us. We will respond within the time limits required by applicable law.

Complaints

If you wish to complain about our processing of your personal information, please contact us using the details below. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to appeal our decision by contacting us using those details or to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. For the EEA, a list of the relevant supervisory authorities is available here.

International transfers

Please note that we may transfer, store and process your personal information outside your country of residence.

If we transfer your personal information outside the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, we will rely on recognised transfer mechanisms, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or, where applicable, equivalent contracts issued by the relevant UK authority, unless the transfer is to a country recognised as providing an adequate level of protection.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy at any time, including to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons. We will post the revised Privacy Policy on this website, update the “Last updated” date and provide notice as required by applicable law.

Services used by the store and recipients of data

In addition to Shopify and the partners already described in this policy, we use the following services depending on the features used by the customer:

  • Google & YouTube, Meta (Facebook and Instagram), TikTok and Pinterest: integrations for measuring interactions and conversions and, depending on the features enabled and your choices, advertising. The data concerned may include pages and products viewed, cart and purchase events, technical identifiers and device information. The Google & YouTube integration is present on our store; this does not mean that all Google products are used.
  • Smile.io: management of the Ordo Veritatis loyalty programme, Aurei points, rewards and related notifications. The necessary data may include customer account information, purchases and loyalty activity.
  • Judge.me: management of product reviews and review requests. The necessary data may include customer contact details, purchase references and review content. Information published in a review is visible to visitors according to the publication options used.
  • Order preparation, delivery and tracking: depending on the items ordered, information needed to fulfil the order is processed by our partners, as well as by carriers and our BestTrack tracking tool. This may include the customer's name, delivery contact details, items ordered and tracking information.

The data shared depends on the service used and the features enabled. Advertising processing and non-essential trackers subject to consent require your prior agreement. You can consult or change your choices through “Cookie preferences” in the footer. Processing necessary for your order or the service you request is separate from consent to advertising.

The provisions of this policy concerning legal bases, retention, international transfers and your rights also apply to this processing. For further information about recipients of your data or to exercise your rights, contact us at alethos-verites@outlook.com.
